HealthpointCapital is run by healthcare investor, John H. Foster, whose merchant bank believes Alphatec's spinal fusion products could increase in sales if additional backing were made available."Spine is the largest and fastest growing element of the orthopedic device industry," said Foster. "Capital is the single greatest constraint to growth among independent spine companies.

"Foster went on to say that Alphatec carries a strong relationship with physicians, which he noted was the key to the company's success. Foster has become the Chairman and CEO of Alphatec.
